Friendly Fire is literally encouraged in this game

You can literally vote on who was the biggest problem and if you want a good hero rank you need to be a horrible human being and undermine everyone else

All fighting and puzzles need coordination yet can be easily sabotaged

There is no point where you can’t kill eachother (even the cutscenes…bomb can do the trick while nobody can move)

Competition over weapons and hearts

Because there is a single kind of item for one person and they are absolutely NOT balanced at all

Bow and boomerang stops being fun when fire rod and bomb come in

And only the person who has found the heart gets the heart container while the rest doesn’t

And shadow link while obvious when shapeshifting determines who the rest will gang up on

Like if he chooses your link to transform into the rest are basically required to all immediately start trying to kill you and ignore shadow link while he jumps around

Shadow link is a diabolical addition because every time you encounter him you got opportunity to make your friends suffer

Hammer Stuns you so people can yeet you off a ledge with no resistance

Bomb gives opportunity for sabotage all you need is stop the rest from entering a hiding spot and watch them get nuked

And shapeshifting is like a Russian roulette wheel on who gets ganged up on while shadow link taunts

Splitting makes you actually have to coordinate with your friends (or enemies) and get all of them (and that is the problem because a five v four is already unfair but it gets worse because the shadow links don’t have friendly fire )

The developers framed it as a friendly game

Scammed people by adding shadow link

And competitive game design (and also the fact that you need a bunch of stuff and it costs a ton of money)

The manga also knows how people play the game because the EXACT same things happen in it

Red keeps setting blue on fire

Blue keeps beating red up in return

Green is trying to play nice and keep everyone under control

Vio Teams up with shadow link and knocks out green (even the betrayal arc when Shadow link's AI starts fighting the one helping it is included lol Vio got nearly burned at the stake )

And nobody gets along for a WHILE and hate each other until the last fight where everyone just barely started to Tolerate eachother

Four Swords Adventures is the story about a boy splitting into four people, who then proceed to try and kill each other repeatedly, while accidentally saving some random girls along the way.

That... was possibly the most intense nightmare sequence I have ever seen.

The way it started out innocent, sweet, making us think it was just a memory, or a scene being shown from Shadow's past.

The way the fight between Shadow and Gemerl ensued, only to quite literally shatter as Shadow punched him and found himself instead punching glass and winding up somewhere else entirely.

How he was putting the events together in such a way that made us realize - this is a nightmare. This is just one of many times he's relived that day. 😭

The haunting atmosphere of him landing in the prison cell where Gerald sat silently, eyes aglow as the lamp above him swung back and forth so eerily.

...only to glitch away from him again and again when he tried to warn the professor that they needed to leave.

The way he was floating in the red space, looking oh so small and scared with how far away the perspective is.

And those cruel flashes of Maria, terrified and calling for him. 😭

"Shadow! Remember!"

and he wakes up in such a violent panic that he immediately summons a Chaos emerald and blasts the nearest tree to bits.

I just... this felt like a deeper dive into his trauma, his PTSD, that hasn't been shown enough before. He did mention that it "wasn't an ordinary nightmare," but still. That was... that was insane.

Not to mention all the flashes and glitches, that would catch him so off guard during the nightmare, uggghhhh. Someone get this boy to therapy. 😭😭🖤❤️
